“Sometimes you have to make a mess to find what you need.” by Katie

I love this quote, and my daughter has a knack for knowing just what to say and when to say it.

This came during a time when I had the dining room table covered in papers, while looking for something I thought I needed.  It was urgent in my mind at the time, to find something specific. 

I can no longer remember what it was, even though I asked for full house assistance to spring into action.

It was a stressful moment for me that was actually not that urgent.  Not her quote, but she reminded me that, lack of preparation on my part does not constitute an emergency for others, with a tilt of her head and a half grin. 

She quietly helped me search and we talked about why I thought finding the paper was so urgent.

She calmed me and made me laugh, she can always find a way to make me laugh and see the sunny side of life, in a gentle way.

Above all, we need positive, supporting people in our lives.  And yes, sometimes you have to make a mess to find what you need.
